Boy with paper hat study
An early study and armature plans for a new figure in the Splendid Strangers series.
I’ve been enjoying the strange sincerity of this one. It’s fun to see the personality begin to emerge as I work out the pose and silhouette.

Completed bronze - Quiet Wonder
Quiet Wonder
The bronze version of Quiet Wonder is finally complete.
Over the past month, I spent much longer developing the patina than I originally expected. I wanted the surface to feel quiet, natural, and alive, with subtle shifts that supported the sculpture without distracting from it. Patina development completed with the expertise of Troy Hardman of Forever In Bronze.
This piece began from noticing people whose sense of wonder still endures after a long life. I imagined him listening to the birds, open to that simple gift of sound and stillness.
22.5 × 12.5 × 16 in.

Bronze stage
All three pieces cast in bronze and cleaned. Quiet Wonder, Storybound, and Tucked Away.
Taking some time to look at them like this before moving into patina.
More soon.
Easy Rolling Clay
Clay sculpture
Part of my Splendid Strangers series
This piece has grown from a small study into a full figure.
I’m drawn to people who move through life in their own rhythm. Comfortable. Unhurried.
There’s something I enjoy about that kind of ease, a quiet confidence that doesn’t ask to be noticed, simply carrying on because it feels natural.
Easy Rolling Study
An early study for a new figure in the Splendid Strangers series.
I loved the sight of an older man rolling along on a skateboard, completely at ease, comfortable in his own rhythm.
Wax stage at Adonis Bronze
I visited the foundry this week to inspect the wax positives for Quiet Wonder, Storybound, and Tucked Away.
Clay becomes wax.
Wax will become bronze.
Grateful to work with the team at @adonisbronze as these figures move forward.
More soon.
Tucked Away
Clay sculpture
Part of my Splendid Strangers series.
This piece was inspired by someone who had found the oddest little spot to read and looked completely content. I loved the honesty of a person so absorbed in her book that nothing else mattered.
I am drawn to these small, unguarded moments, and to people who are at ease with their own ways, even when they sit slightly outside what is expected.
Storybound
Clay sculpture
Part of my Splendid Strangers series
This piece grew from being delighted by people so full of ideas they can’t wait to get them down, even on the move. That kind of energy has a way of making you smile.
Quiet Wonder
Clay sculpture
Part of my Splendid Strangers series
This piece came from noticing people who still pause for small joys, even after a long life. I imagined him standing quietly, listening, letting a simple moment meet him where he is.
I’m excited to begin sharing these figures shaped around everyday people, gentle character, and quiet warmth.
